My Nail Art Tutorial Video Debut

I've always been into watching nail art tutorial vids on YouTube. I always thought to myself how cool it would be if I could have a tutorial video of my own. Just this month I was informed about a nail art video contest thing... And I really like the prize they're giving away... so I said "why not join?"

Over Easter break I decided to make the video. I was pondering on whether to show my face as I went through the tutorial or to just show my nails and hands. I was also picking between just using captions to explain the vid, or to use my actual speaking voice.

To banish any stereotypes, I decided NOT to show my face (also so you get to focus on my nails more). As for the instructions, I decided to explain the things needed through captions, but the instructions, using my actual voice (hard to fit the many things I want to say in short sentences).

Are you ready? Presenting, my tutorial debut... Haha!

I hope you enjoyed the video (please leave a comment and let me know. drop by youtube to like it, too!)! If you don't have the exact materials I used, u can just improvise and make use of the silver tipped cocept, with any plate you have stamped in white, and any bunch of rhinestone stickers u have existing.

If you still don't have the Konad stamping kit, I'm reminding you to JOIN my mini contest 'cos i'm giving away just that! Click here , to join!

And one more thing, my friend Kristen and I will very soon start selling various Konad nail art products at our online store, Paperbag Vintage. And, we will aslo be selling Konad nail art products at our upcoming bazaar, The Big Bang Bazaar 2011 this April 30 - May 1, 2011 (Sat & Sun) at the NBC Tent, The Fort.

Hope to see you there!

Night Out (Can't Think of a Better Title)

A big part of the fun when going out clubbing is the dressing up process. Two nights ago I was able to do just that - mixing and matching different pieces together, til I came up with the perfect ensemble. It actually took me a whole hour to come up with the look. I was originally going to wear the skirt in the photo below with a pink bodysuit and beige shoes, but then i found the outfit too girly. Definitely was not in the barbie cutesy mode. I wanted something a bit more edgy so I switched the pink for a regular white top. Funkified the look with a hat and my fave black booties.

HAT: SM
ACCESSORIES: RANDOM BRAND
TOP: BORROWED FROM SISTER IN LAW
SKIRT: H&M
SHOES: CHARLES & KEITH

By the way, the H&M skirt I'm wearing is supposed to be for sale at our online store, Paperbag Vintage. Since our consignor only had one piece of that design, I decided to buy them myself. So they're not for sale anymore, obviously. They're all mine. Bwahahha!! You must be wondering why
Paperbag Vintage has H&M? It's because we're coming out with an H&M collection for our bazaar this coming April 30 & May 1 at the NBC Tent (Big Bang Bazaar 2011).

From the skirt, lets move on to the boots... They're the best pair I've ever owned. They have heels, but not too high. They're extremely comfortable... I can wear them all day and not be in pain... I've  owned my pair for almost a year now so you can just imagine how old and worn out they're getting. Since I love them so much, I'm planning to buy the exact same pair again (crossing my fingers they're still in stock).

I'm sure you're curious to find out where I went that Friday evening, huh?! Well, my sister-in-law and I took a balikbayan friend out to dinner at Jozu Kin, Burgos Circle, The Fort. We had a few drinks at nearby Izumi afterwards. At about a little past midnight, we headed to Resorts World to meet up with my other friends Margarita and Karina. And then... You know what happened next... Party, party! LOL.

This next photo was taken around 4am...

Karimadon Catalogue Shoot

My blog is still so empty, I know. So to make up for that, I'll do a back-post (does that term even exist?) on a shoot I did in November 2010. I haven't uploaded these on Chictopia, so might as well do it here. It was a catalogue shoot for Karamidon, a local brand here in the Philippines selling cocktail dresses and formal wear. I personally like the store since they have affordable stuff. Perfect for last minute shopping for that impromptu cocktail affair you just got invited to.

The store's new look.
I'M GUESSING THIS IS THE SM MEGAMALL BRANCH?

A cute version of the LBD.
STYLLING: RAFFY VIERNES, BORGH CARINO, ABY PUZON
MAKE UP: UNO JUAN

I love this little black dress. Its simple, but the details are love. If you look closely you'll see the ruffled detail on the front. It gives it a sort of peplum effect. I know peplum is so last season, but the cut is perfect for those girls with tiny hips. Adds to the curves, in my opinion. Check the zoomed in version.
ACCESSORIES KEPT TO A MINIMUM

Now for the next photo, I totally love the skirt and top. Its elegant and classy, but still uber sexy. I like the body con effect of the skirt, and how the soft top is sort of contrasting the tight skirt. The shoes are super fab too… But then they're way too high for me, since I'm already 5'10." Imagine a 5'10" girl walking in 6 inch heels. People. Will. Get. Scared. Haha. So 6 inch heels are out of the picture!
CLOTHES & ACCESSORIES: KARIMADON
SHOES: FOREVER 21

FYI, I absolutely hate my pose above. I think my shoulders and arms look way too broad and masculine. But then that's what the photographer chose, he must have a reason.

Now for the group shots.

Toodleloo!

How Does She Do It?

I'm talking about my nails. Isn't it obvious I love doing them? This is actually a very new found passion I have. Believe it or not... I used to do them manually: thin brush, dotting tool, etc. However, I recently found out about this incredible stamping thing that allows you to put super intricate and detailed patterns on your nails, just like you came straight from the salon!

I'm thinking of making either a video tutorial or a photo step-by-step of how to do them. Yeaaaahh... that's a brilliant idea, G! Note to self, "Make that your project for Holy Week!"

For now, here's a teaser shot.
FIRST COLOR: MIXED HOT PINK WITH WHITE TO GET THE BARBIE PINK COLOR
SECOND COLOR: DIAGONAL WHITE STRIPE
THIRD COLOR: BLACK PLAID STAMP
FOURTH COLOR: THIN SILVER LINE
TOPPED OFF RING FINER WITH RHINESTONES!
